About Me

Hi there!  Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.  My name is Jessica and I started this blogging journey in January 2013.  I'm so glad that I did because it has been a huge source of inspiration for me.
I am currently a stay at home mom to the cutie you see above.  She is now almost two years old so we keep busy reading books, playing, swimming, learning colors and words, eating snacks, and whatever else we can find to do!

But before that, I spent 9 years teaching both first and second grade, first in Connecticut and then in Texas (where we are now). Teaching reading to younger students is where my heart lies, so I went back to school to get my Master's degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus in reading and language arts.

When I go back to work, I hope to find a job as a reading specialist, literacy coach, or something related to curriculum.  I'm also really interested in the differences in educational practices between states.  Going from Connecticut to Texas has been and still is a huge adjustment for me.
This is my husband Anthony and I.  We have been married about four years now. He is sweet enough to listen to all of my teacher drama and be supportive of my blogging and TpT time.
And this is my other baby, Tink, who spends most of her time trying to sit ON my laptop keyboard.

Shortly after beginning this blog, I opened my Teachers Pay Teachers store, which is mostly focused on literacy resources with the intent to keep students engaged and motivated.  You can check out some of my products below.
