December Currently

Now that it is December, I can't wait for it to be the end of the month!
Listening:  I'm a late comer to Scandal but I am totally hooked!  I wish I could catch up so I could watch the current episodes.
Loving:  It has been cold and rainy in Houston for what feels like weeks and today the sun is finally supposed to come out.  We will definitely be at the park this afternoon!
Thinking:  This little girls LOVES reading and it's so cute!   I especially love when she slips through her books in the car.
We are doing a countdown to Christmas with 25 days of winter board books.  If you'd like some free number tags or book ideas, you can find them here.

Wanting:  I have boots and I have flip flops but nothing in between so I really want some shoes.  I always used to wear flats to work but now that I am staying home, I wanted something more casual to wear with jeans.  Like Toms or something...but I tried them and they were very uncomfortable to me!  I actually have some similar looking $14.99 ones from Target that I like but they are falling apart now.  So still on the look out.

Needing:  My daughter is 13 months old now and I still find it difficult to eat!  I can't really cook, she wants to eat everything I have so it's hard to snack, and she only sleeps about an hour a day...during which I have lots I want to do and cooking myself something isn't really how I want to spend it, even though I am hungry! Mom problems.
Real or Fake?  We bought a cheap fake tree with lights last year after Gracie was born.  Just figured it would be easier.  Someday I'd like to get a real one, although I'm not even sure how that works in Texas!  In Massachusetts we would go out in the snow and my dad would cut it down!  We put the tree up, complete with plastic ornaments and a large baby gate.  It's also already surrounded with WAY too many presents.  Spoiled first baby!  Don't worry, I'm done shopping.  Plus others have mailed her presents too so they aren't all my doing.  But honestly, I can't wait to open them so we can have new stuff to play with!  I think mommy gets more bored than baby sometimes.

  3. Your baby is so cute, and I love to see her reading! There are probably some tree farms outside of Houston, but no snow. Welcome to Texas!

  4. I love your fence around your tree. I was just telling my sister-in-law she needs a setup like that for her tree. I hear ya about hitting the park. This rainy cold weather needs to move out!

  5. Oh my goodness, I love the shots of the baby reading her books and your solution with the Christmas tree fence is priceless! When my son was a toddler we bought a small tree and placed it on our kitchen table! I can't remember how we managed to eat for the whole month- since our table was covered with the tree and stuff! Have you tried Go-Walk shoes by Skechers! I love them!
