Five for Friday!

This post will be short and sweet because I flew home to Massachusetts on Wednesday, which is where I grew up.  Both my family and my husband's family still live here.  I'm enjoying being away from the extreme heat for a while!  It's sort of strange coming back to New England though because the past couple of years it has seemed all countryish to me like you see in the least compared to the city of Houston.  I never felt like that when I lived here!

Since I'm home, I've been spending a lot of time with my niece and nephew who are five and seven.  Today we went to Toys R Us and Chuck E. Cheese.

Yes, my niece is licking her brother's head.  She likes to act like a weirdo.

Then my nephew tested and received his green belt.  I was pretty impressed with everything he was able to do since he is only five.  It was a long process because all the kids testing for different colored belts participated at the same time, but it was interesting to see what the bigger kids can do too.

I turned 31 on Tuesday.  Nooooooooooo not fun.  I feel super old and behind in life ever since turning 30 last year.

As you may know my now, I am slightly obsessed with Tim McGraw.  I saw him in Dallas last Saturday and am going to see him again tonight in Connecticut.    Tonight, I get to go with a couple of my friends that I used to teach with and only see once or twice a year since moving so I'm super excited to see the too.

Last Saturday, we got to stand in the pit.  I don't know if I'd do that again.  It was soooooo hot and it was a loooooong time waiting without any space to move around or sit.  I started at about 5 just a couple people back from the stage.  But I ended up having to move back just so I could breathe, since he didn't even come on until nearly 9.  But, once he came on stage I was fine and he was so close I didn't have to watch the large video screens for once!  If you've never seen him in concert, you should!  He puts on a really good show, sings all of his hits mixed with new songs, and is definitely good eye candy for a couple of hours.  Here are some pictures from the concert last week.  I think I could have touched him at one point, but didn't want to be one of those screaming and yelling people pushing everyone away.
