QR Verb Freebie and a Voki (curious?)

So this is a Voki.  It is a customized, talking avatar.  You can choose the character, background, and customize the colors.  Then you can add voice by typing text and having the computer read it (like above - press play) or you can record your own 30 second message with your voice.  I could totally see me putting this up on my Promethean board to tell my students a message and them getting a kick out of it!  I guess the kids can make them too, but you have to pay to have classroom accounts and all that.

I must say Scholastic is really good to teachers!  I got this really nice bag and all the books lying near it for FREE at the conference.  Lakeshore gave everyone one of their computer games too.

I had such a positive response from so many people interested in reading Richard Allington's book, I'm thinking of doing a book study/linky party time thing in June when we all have time to read it.  I'm going to file the emails from yesterday so I can remember who was interested.

Here is your Manic Monday freebie.  It is a set of QR task cards for past tense irregular verbs.

  1. My kids would get a kick out of that too. I've never used it before. Thanks for the freebie! I've already covered verbs, but I will save it for next year.

  3. I love love love Vokis!! My kiddos in 2nd grade loved using Vokis, too. They're great for a variety of things - reading aloud, using for book reports, recording a social studies interview, recording poetry, listening to a quick story, sooo many different things! I used it for our morning message and the kiddos got a definite kick out of it because it was a different character with a different background each day, all with a different voice! Glad to have found you through This Little Piggy Reads' giveaway! Cannot wait to see what else you post!
